Trip Details

No long winded writing and minimal run-on sentences. Just a quick breakdown of your night aurora chasing with me.

Whitehorse, Yukon

Aurora chasing until April 2025.

Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

Aurora chasing beginning August 2025 forevermore.

Getting started

Tours will be in my Toyota Sienna, which means I accept a maximum of between 5-6 guests per night.

Accommodation pick-up and drop-off is included, within Whitehorse/Yellowknife city limits.

Pick-up times will usually range between 23:00 and midnight. Expect to be back at your accommodation between 03:00 and 04:30. This can still vary greatly depending on the distance we travel, how auroral conditions are, and how the weather is.
(Times listed above are specific to Whitehorse. Times for Yellowknife will be earlier and specified in the late spring.)

Your choice of a warm drink in an individual thermos with home baked treats are included in our night.

I take photos of the aurora through the night, and you'll receive a small collection of my images from our time together, along with some aurora portraits of you too.

Pricing

$150 per person, per night.

Tours must have a minimum of 2 guests to proceed.

Private tours for up to 7 guests can be arranged. Please contact me for more information.

The chase

If you experience car sickness, there may be other tours potentially better suited to you. We will travel the highways outside Whitehorse, and when the weather makes long drives necessary, it will be our plan.

Realistically, there are nights that we unfortunately just won't see the aurora. We'll always do our best to set ourselves up for success, but ultimately, mother nature does get the final say.

When the weather allows for us to cherry pick our spots, we are going to choose beautiful, quiet locations with photography in mind.

On nights of challenging weather, our priority will always be finding a safe location under clear sky.

Considerations

While on tour with me, I have a few spare medium weight/medium height tripods you may borrow for your own camera should you not have one or choose not to bring your own.
