A Forced Hand

Late Friday night at the side of the highway isn’t my first choice for a peaceful experience, but the weather left us little choice. Quieter driveways are packed with snow and cloud still abounded. However, a much shorter than anticipated drive out of Yellowknife did yield clear skies overhead, and the most gentle arc of aurora as soon as we arrived that stayed with us all through the night.
