The Subtle Squeaks

Did you hear them?
There was plenty of time to, as we pounded the pavement - no, not pavement - gravel/compact snow/ice for some 60 kilometres over frost heaves out into the countryside tonight. It’s the it’s-been-negative-thirty-for-a-week-now squeaks.
Annndd was the wind ever blowing tonight - a little precursor to the warmer, windier still, stormy weather on the way tomorrow.
