simple laughs

Jen is awesome. She’s relaxed, real, down to earth and together we have ridiculous amounts of fun. I don’t need to say very much more because if you follow me on Twitter, you see the updates of our ridiculousness together. Like yesterday, walking into Waves Coffee with Blenz Coffee sample drinks, and then her taking my little cup which was still half full, dropping it into hers, and then thinking that for whatever reason, I would be holding HER cup, and it falling to the floor covering the surrounding tile, our shoes, the chairs, and apparently my shoulder bag with a London Fog Chai… something or other. Yesyes. Quack. Muah!

sunset odds

I love to let life just flow. I’m not really an advocate of to-do lists, or a pusher of pencils. I’m not too bothered with deadlines or pressures. I love experiencing that my rendezvous’ with the most enjoyable circumstances happen in a fashion of relaxed expectation of all good things to flow eventually. While these things aren’t often too groundbreaking, although my following blog post is something of that nature, I am really much more exhilarated and several things coming together all at once of a much smaller nature. Things like an accidental free bus ride. My iPod seemingly KNOWING which song is that perfect fit in every moment. Walking right into thousands of people while a historic train rounds the corner. Reaching a beach just as the tide starts to pull out. Clouds hanging overhead to ensure we were to experience the most glorious sunset. Being assured great conversation would prevail, whether it was with several strangers or Amanda herself.

She’s a definite uplifter. She knows who she is, and she radiates making the best of where she is right now in this moment. She loves to laugh, she loves to praise, she loves to take her time and ensure no perfect moment goes unnoticed. She won’t let you too easily take her picture, but ironically enough, at the very end of the evening, she had moments of pure sass in front of the lens. I just wish I could link you to somewhere online where she works her magic from behind the camera lens. I’m officially calling you out on my blog for selfishly keeping your beautiful photography to yourself, Amanda. Don’t hate me entirely.

So here I am finishing up my words for Amanda’s first appearance on my blog, and while I thought the words may never flow to accompany these photographs – they have, all in a relaxed expectation of it being a natural, joyous journey to the completion of this post. So certainly it doesn’t take much more than feeling good to get the ball rolling. Just get happy, breathe in deeply once in a while, and smile feeling love where you are. Especially at a sunset like this.

life on repeat

Sometimes I like to think I know better, and I really do know better but that doesn’t stop me. At all.

Victoria is a friend from… Victoria, over on the island. She loves to shop. LOVES to shop. She was wanting, not as much as shopping at Banana Republic, but she was wanting a few fresh photographs. Note the few, because we couldn’t wait to get back to Robson Street. I fear the photography part of the day got the short straw, but… such is life. Especially with a couple of friends who love to shop & taste great food.
So of course I wasn’t going to just stand-by and watch Victoria thoroughly enjoy destroying perfectly folded clothes all over the store to try on, and take home. I had to be a part of it, so I left with… I left with what I wanted & liked. Let me say this though, one of these days, I am going to learn and not take my camera stuff in my shoulder bag shopping with me. Seriously. Such a pain. Literally. Especially with my shopping habits, because there’s nothing short about a day shopping with me.
