I’ve known Emily a while, and you may remember her from a previous shoot we had back more toward late Winter. Had a little time to pass before we wanted to start so I shot a couple getting ready images while anticipating the Flames being knocked out of the playoffs. If only they could’ve won a playoff series, we would’ve knocked them out second round and it would’ve been so much sweeter indeed. I told you I’d be writing about some hockey in here eventually. Anyyyyway. Last two were shot with a 580 bounced inside a 28″ softbox off camera. I need practice. Models? Thanks to Emily for the shoot, we had a lot fun! Forget about asking for a serious face from her because she’s the sort of girl that as soon as you ask, she bursts out in hysterical laughter.

I’m unofficially a strobist! Okay, so after all that talk, worry, frustration & energy to off camera lighting – for what?! It’s not entirely rocket science, but it is really a lot of fun aside from needing four thousand seven hundred and thirty five batteries at any given time. Im kidding of course. Anyway, dinner party last night… some bring desserts, some bring wine, I decided to bring my 580II, softbox & pocket wizards! Yeah, steps – not very interesting, work uniform – not terribly hot, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to experiment with my new lighting set up! Just a couple of my very first snapshots with off camera flash! Ever!

I’m sure I’ll have more reeeaaaal soon!
Mother Earth is the most abundant source of love & well being I could ever imagine. It is pure deliciousness. She never demands our appreciation to continue blooming. She is there for us always. She is the most magnificent reminder to us in our connection to Source. Is this not a heaven experience? Come to appreciate your senses in this phenomenal physical body, and your eternal connection to all that is joyous & abundant here on Planet Earth and maybe, just maybe, we’ll know all is well.

Just as I stepped out of my bedroom here to go and brush my teeth, I noticed the stove light was on downstairs. I sighed not wanting to walk down and switch it off, but I thought of the Earth and it hit me – it doesn’t take very much. So I went back and turned the light off.
