I think a lot of people are in the belief that flare is nothing more than a recent fad, and will be on the way out faster than it became popular. I don’t think so. It’s natural light, it’s only a shooting style with natural light – it has nothing to do with post processing, it’s about our surroundings. Saying flare is heading out of style is like saying natural light is on it’s way out, and until the sun disappears in five billion years from now… forget about it. This shoot had a lot do to with nature actually for us. Naz in her flats, I in my leather dress shoes, hiked up into a lightly forested area and really just made our own place here. Apparently I forgot my creative hat at home though because was I ever struggling to get going. Sushi after, as always. Naz & I decided to act mature and dare one another into eating a chopstick full of wasabi, and now I’m paying for it with an upset tummy while I publish this online. :P

Word travels …without referring directly to the OLN travel writer show, whose theme song I’ve been humming in my head for the past few hours. Anyway! Rewind to my first wedding, the bride, Amy, is Kevin’s sister and word of mouth got out and I was delighted to have been asked to shoot Kevin & Alex’s wedding in late May. Good friend, Anna Jarske from Finland, will in fact be joining me for it! We had scheduled their e-session last weekend, however it was raining sideways so we gave it another week and are glad we did!
These two are amazing together though, let me tell you. Ever just get a vibe of pure love, and pure joy from people close to you? That’s exactly the feeling of spending some time around them. We ventured around Fort Langley and a few of the trails just outside the city including their engagement spot. It took them no time at all to warm up to the idea of being in front of an old camera lens, or perhaps it’s just their love together, but they’re naturals.

The making of a young man, and his current surroundings.

Probably the most popular photograph I've ever taken to date, as seen here on the front cover of a German aviation book.

Books which are always within reach.

Just one desire of several dozen.

Country patches, sewn by myself I might add, I've collected from within them.

Probably to your surprise, these are real aeroplanes and my room is just much bigger than you had likely imagined.

Jajaja... I still have my stuffed animals. No comments from the peanut gallery please, thank you very much.

Meet Jorgen. I wanted a roaming gnome, so I found one in Leknes, Norway just before Christmas.

Ever expanding, and continually changing is my colour coded closet.

Jimjams folded perfectly for bedtime.
