What’s a job slinging bags for less than $200,000 a year if not for the photo ops. Far from anything spectacular, but it’s good to find the feeling place of being back in the groove…

18th January, and my first Canuck game in a few years down at the Garage – I was chuffed! So early this afternoon, I climb up into the old attic and dig out one of my fourty hockey jerseys – my home ’skate’ jersey with McLean stiched on the back on it is! We arrive nice and early and to catch the warm up, and get nicely settled in. I hadn’t been to GM Place since they put in the new screen, and gave the arena it’s makeover - amazing difference! What an atmosphere to watch our ‘Nucks in!
Standing against the glass during warm up had me feeling like I was ten years old again when I’d go watch the Kings come into town. In total & complete awe of the players, their agility, size & speed – I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. What a terrific feeling!

So despite going 0-4-1 on this five game home stand, and flushing away another point in the shootout tonight, I think this team has turned a corner. They looked better, they played with a lot of heart & determinaton, and they stood up for one another. They look good, and I think we may be in for a pleasant surprise this second half of the season!
There are a number of ways I could begin this. However, let me first say how much I love bread pudding, and mums homemade bread pudding at that. Combine it with my mid evening cup of tea, and I’m in that mindset for some of my best thinking.

Ask me when the last time was that I watched the news on TV, or read a paper, or listened to the radio… I can’t even remember when I last did any of those it’s been so long. Here’s the thing, I’m tired of hearing about and becoming a part of the worldwide phenomenon which is the economic crises & credit crunch. While I haven’t, and will not spend my energy understanding everything that is wrong with the world to create it, I do know this – that no matter how bad you think it may be right now, it really is a wonderful time to be alive.
The greatest problem isn’t that of the stock market, or the banks, or whatever the cause may be… it’s the effect. We are the effect, and as long as any single person on this planet goes out into their day thinking about how bad it is, and talking about that – they’re only creating more it. You see, when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. Now of course each of us is just one person, however, if we all changed what we were interested in – if we demanded only the positives from life, we would have it delivered to us. The media thrives upon attention, and the fact is; when something negative happens – ratings & attention given go through the roof. Now that action – of us giving those negative events & circumstances our attention, we are now saying this is what we want more of. And so through the infinite power of the universe, it is manifest. Now thankfully, this works both ways. Lets turn this around! Start responding to all the good you see in the world, begin to praise those positive things you wish more of, and I know for certain more of those positive things will be brought to you. For it is universal law.

Feeding from an abundance of pollen.
Begin to embrace change, there is no sense in worrying whether you may have a job next week, next month, or next year. Should you be relieved of your current circumstance in life, say thank you, and take the opportunity to begin to discover what it is you’re really wanting. Where is your interest? What do you love? What would make you happy for the rest of your life?! Then do those things! Release the thought of having to be, or do what any one person believes you should do, or be, or have. Follow your bliss. Not that of your husbands, not that of your mothers, not that of your societys, and not that of your religions! You are the creator of your life, and you have a phenomenal ability to take it in the direction you choose.

Dare to be different.
I have a very meaningful friend on the other side of the planet from me currently, and I respect her more than just about anyone else I can think of. She has completely transformed her life in an absolutely incredible way! I wont go into details about what has been in her life, but she has surmounted ridiculous obstacles I think we both, at one point, thought would keep her stuck. Well, not long ago – she made a decision, and that decision was to take control of her life the way we all deserve to! In the years we’ve known one another, she’s doing better today than I’ve ever seen - working with like minded people in her passion for photography at a lab, and becoming a huge success with her real calling of wedding photography, and not only is she doing so mentally & emotionally, but financially.
To me, this proves that success is measured in more than just dollar signs, or euro signs, but by our emotional health. What an inspiration!
Thank you.
