Accepting Abundance

As I may have, at one point many, many years ago first mentioned, I have a soft spot in me (and my wallet) for extraordinary hotels.  This weekend I took a little break to Victoria and stayed at the Fairmont Empress.  I’ll let the hotel speak for itself.

Almost as if they knew I'd needed renewed inspiration - they pause unannounced in my frame, shared this together, and continued on. I then knew this was my final frame that night.

Snowtoshoot

While it hasn’t stopped snowing in 24 hours, I couldn’t bear letting the photography go until it gets dry so we decided to play around a little with the foot of snow (and counting) on the ground.  Holding an umbrella over my non-weather sealed body (I’m concerned about my camera here, not me) with one hand, and posing/shooting with the other, the shots aren’t as technically pleasing as I’d like, however still fun!  Enjoy!

Let It Snow!

Not long ago, I would’ve said the odds of designing my own blog & website were about the same chances of it getting down to -11°C in Vancouver this Winter – oddly enough, both have happened! It’s incredible the way snow lights up the city, and the spirits of people within it. And so I’m equally as chuffed to present my blog, and my website as I am with the snow on the ground!

Of course, not everything about snowfall is brilliant. Took this while waiting for the B-line with about 347 other people.
